AN AYURVEDIC REVIEW OF VATASTHILA WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO BENIGB PROSTATIC HYPERPLASIA

ABSTRACT
Benign prostatic hyperplasia is a burning senile problem of elderly men and no definitive conservative cure is available. The present available surgical and minimal invasive methods have their own limitations. In the ancient texts of Ayurveda, bph can be compared to Vatasthila type of mutraghat. Various types of treatment mentioned in ayurvedic texts for bph like uttar basti, matra basti, various types of oral drugs etc. which can be a game changer as alternatives to surgical and other treatment procedures used in present era which have many complications of their own. Hence, to find a suitable ayurvedic approach, an effort has been made towards the management of BPH.
