ABSTRACT

An essential herb in Ayurvedic treatment is Solanum xanthocarpum. Solanum xanthocarpum has been shown in numerous studies to have antiasthmatic, hypoglycemic, hepatoprotective, antimicrobial etc and insect repellent qualities. The goal of this review is to provide information about the medical uses of Solanum xanthocarpum as well as future research opportunities for the plant that could lead to the creation of potent pharmaceutical molecules.
