PROBABLE MODE OF ACTION OF DURVADI TAILA ON WOUND HEALING

ABSTRACT
Healing is a vital protective mechanism of our body. Ayurveda offers numerous formulations to treat wounds effectively. Ayurveda, the traditional Indian system of medicine, is based on empirical knowledge gathered through observations and experience spanning millennia. Ayurveda offers numerous formulations for treating wounds without complications. Our Acharyas have broadly described the principles of wound management and classified drugs into to Vrana shodhana and Vrana ropana. According to the Sushruta Samhita, classical wound management involves 60 therapeutic steps designed to accelerate the healing process and uphold its quality and aesthetics. After a thorough review of Ayurvedic classics, it was confirmed that Durva possesses significant wound-healing properties and is mentioned in the Vedas, Charaka Samhita, and Sushruta Samhita.
