Shradha S. Bhusari*, Aishwarya R. Bhavle, Sandesh P. Bhalerao, Ganesh Tapdiya, Shruti Dake

ABSTRACT

Microwave-assisted organic reactions (MORE) is a simple, clean, rapid, efficient and low-cost method for synthesizing organic molecules and has proven to be a tool in green chemistry. This technique can reduce the time of chemical reactions from hours to minutes. Conventional synthetic reaction methods require longer heating times and complex and tedious setup of equipment, resulting in high costs and environmental pollution. Compared with conventional methods, the reaction rates of microwave-induced organic reactions are increased by 10-1000 times and the product yields are increased by 10-30%. Both the conventional and MORE methods were used to synthesize selected heterocyclic molecules. A comparative study between the conventional method and the MORE method was performed 4,444 times. The MORE method proved to be more efficient than the conventional classical method.
