ABSTRACT
Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate and quantify the occurrence, risk factors, and severity of hyponatremia induced by cisplatin, and assessment of the quality of life of cancer patients undergoing concurrent treatment. Method: It was a prospective observational study for evaluating the occurrence of hyponatremia and to assess the Quality of Life of cancer patients receiving cisplatin. The quality of life was assessed by using EORTC QLQ c-30. For QOL the raw scores were computed and linearly transformed to the scale of 0-100. Results: Data from 36 patients were used to assess and evaluate quality of life. All the demographic data was represented as mean and percentage The percentage score for the QOL of patient undergoing chemo radiation was calculate and graph for various domain wasplotted, which conclude that the patient QOL in all the domain was decreased at end of the completion of cisplatin Cycles. Paired t-test was use to find the statistical significance of hyponatremia before and after the treatment of cisplatin chemo-radiation which was (<0.003). The ANOVA test was used to check the within and between-subject variability, there was showed statistical significance. (For QLQ C-30 p-value:
