POTENTIAL OF NATURAL DISINTEGRANTS IN PHARMACEUTICAL FORMULATION- A REVIEW

ABSTRACT

Natural disintegrants are essential to the efficient and rapid disintegration of tablets and capsules in pharmaceutical formulations, hence improving drug bioavailability. These disintegrants, which come from a variety of natural sources, are favoured because they are patient-acceptable, environmentally sustainable, and biocompatible. These can be found in nature in large and affordable quantities. These natural disintegrants work effectively to ensure the rapid release of active pharmaceutical substances due to a variety of mechanisms, including swelling, capillary action, strain recovery, and enzymatic action. Researchers are currently concentrating on excipients that are found naturally.
