A COMPARATIVE CLINICAL STUDY TO EVALUATE THE EFFICACY OF KATI BASTI AND KATI PICHU WITH ERANDA PATRA SADHITA TILA TAIL IN GRIDHRASI WSR SCIATICA

ABSTRACT
The physical strain of modern life, adoption of erect posture, dynamics of the human spine & lack of physical exercise made a civilized human liable to various lifestyle postural disorders. Such presentations were common in olden period too and ancient science of life named it as Gridhrasi. It is considered as Shoola Pradhaana Vaatavyaadhi. The term Gridhrasi and sciatica of modern medicine refer to the same singular presentation – pain along the course of leg irrespective of etiological variations. Chikitsa like different types of Snehana and Swedana are advocated in GRIDHRASI. The procedure of Katibasti is protracted and tiresome. Whereas Katipichu which is a type of Bahya Sneha and Sweda with easier and cost effective approach can be evaluated in the treatment of Gridhrasi. So the present study is undertaken. Objectives of the study: 1. To evaluate the efficacy of Katibasti and Katipichu with Erand Patra sadhita Tila Taila in Gridhrasi. Methods: Nature of Study: Randomized Comparative Clinical Study. The subjects fulfilling the inclusion- exclusion criteria will be randomly divided into two groups.
