ABSTRACT
Natural products have long been valued for their chemical diversity and potential therapeutic properties. This research looks on the pharmacological properties, botanical traits, and phytochemical composition of Boswellia ovalifoliolata, an endangered medicinal tree that is native to India's Eastern Ghats. The plant, which is a member of the Burseraceae family, is abundant in secondary metabolites, including phenols, terpenoids, flavonoids, and saponins. Analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-adipogenesis, anti-hyperlipidaemic, cardioprotective, cytotoxic, antibacterial, antidiabetic, and hepatoprotective properties are just a few of the notable pharmacological activity shown by several extracts derived from several plant sections. These results underline the need for more research on Boswellia ovalifoliolata to create new drugs and identify therapeutic uses. The plant is a valuable source of bioactive chemicals with a variety of medicinal uses. The taxonomic description, photos, botanical features, pharmacological action, and phytochemical contents are all covered in detail in this study.
