A LITERARY REVIEW OF SHULAPRASHAMANA DASHEMANI W.S.R. TO PARINAMASHULA

ABSTRACT
The word “Shula” is frequently used in the Ayurvedic Classics and it generally refers to Udarashula. The Shula that is produced during the digestion of food is known as Parinamashula, meaning the pain that arises during transformation of food. This Parinamashula can be compared to Duodenal ulcer in modern terms. Acharya Charaka has explained one of the unique concepts in Sutra Sthana 4th chapter Shatvirechana Shatashritiya Adhyaya i.e Charakoktha Mahakashaya. The classification of the Dravya is done based on their Karma. Shulaprashamana Dashemani is one among them which is said to be more effective in case of Colic. The Shulaprashamana Dashemani consists of 10 drugs and they are Pippali, Pippalimoola, Chavya, Chitraka, Shringavera, Marica, Ajamoda, Ajagandha, Ajaji and Gandeera. These drugs are having Katu Rasa, Laghu, Ruksha, Snigdha guna, Usna Virya, Katu vipaka which acts as Agnideepaka and pacifies Tridosha. This is a review article of Shulaprashamana dashemani w.s.r to Parinamashula.
