ABSTRACT
A prospective survey was conducted to evaluate the ADR associated with telmisartan, HCTZ, and its combination using the Severity and Seriousness Assessment in hypertensive patients at a hospital in Pala and provide awareness about the management of hypertension. The study was conducted through a telephonic interview using a valid questionnaire, and 83 patients were selected according to study criteria. Result: In telmisartan monotherapy, 11 patients suffered from mild ADR; two patients were reported to have ADR in HCTZ monotherapy, and 8 patients were reported to have ADR in combination therapy. Combination therapy had fewer ADRs than monotherapy. Conclusion: Without any anti-dote, a proper lifestyle modification can help alleviate the ADR.
