Abstract

INSIGHT OF LAGHUTRAYI AND BRUHATRAYI W.S.R. TO TRIKATU

ABSTRACT

The Ayurveda has a wealth of numerous medicinal herbs in which Trikatu is used very frequently. It is compound herbal formulation containing three acrids mixed together in equal quantities. These tree acrids are Pippali(Pipper longum Linn.), Marich(Pipper nigrum Linn.) and Shunthi(Zingiber officinalis Rose.) mixed in equal amount. Trikatu is a drug of choice in Agnimandya(poor digestion). Specially affects the depilation of kapha, Meda etc.[1]
