ABSTRACT
The use of medication during surgery or other potentially painful operations to block off pain or other unpleasant sensations is known as anaesthesia. Anaesthesia works by obstructing nerve impulses and, consequently blocking pain. It can be dministered intravenously, orally, or through gases or vapours breathed. An anaesthesiologist is a medical professional with expertise in administering and controlling anesthetics, which are drugs that cause numbness in certain body parts or aid in falling and staying asleep.
