PREVENTION OF CANCER THROUGH AYURVEDIC APPROACH (AAHAR -VIHAR & SHODHAN- SAMAN THERAPY)- A SHORT REVIEW

ABSTRACT

Cancer has come out as a huge public health problem worldwide as well as in evolutive countries. Cancer is not just one disease, but a large group of diseases degrading patient slowly physically, mentally and economically, making their life miserable. That the disease resembling with cancer codified in the classic text of Ayurveda in the form of Granthi and Arbuda. Main causative factors like Changes in habits, reduced physical activity with increasing sedentary life-style, eating junk food with higher levels of total energy, heredity, environmental pollution, Smoking (Active and passive), Tobacco sewing, Alcohol, Obesity, many time of nutrition deficiency etc. in classical text Virudhahar, Vegvidharn, Mansik Santap etc. that are almost similar for leading cancer. Cancer is very dangerous and progressive disease in that time, so we try to limitation of cancer patients through ayurvedic concept like “Nidan Parivarjan that means
cease the causative factor. Acharya Charaka, described effective prevention for cancer. It includes maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle and avoiding exposure to known cancer causing substances. In this article we describe the Aahar- Vihar and Shodhan (Panchakarma)- saman process for prevention of cancer occurring.
