Clitoria ternatea, also known as butterfly pea or blue pea, is a herbaceous plant belonging to the Fabaceae family. Renowned for its vibrant blue flowers and extensive medicinal properties, this perennial herb has been utilized in traditional medicine for centuries. This review aims to provide a detailed overview of Clitoria ternatea, encompassing its botanical characteristics, phytochemical composition, pharmacological activities, and therapeutic applications.
