BIO - CHEMICAL ANALYSIS OF PIRANDAI VADAGAM

ABSTRACT
Siddha medicine has deep roots in the Indian subcontinent, reflecting the country's culture, tradition and heritage. The system aims for treating various diseases including even chronic conditions and curative aspect in holistic treatment methodology using herbals, metals, minerals and animal products. PIRANDAI VADAGAM is one of the good herbo-mineral formulation which can cure kunmam (peptic ulcer) associated with indigestion. This bio-chemical analysis study will highlight evidence bases on scientific research in terms of their actions to enlighten the conventional treatment. The medicine "PIRANDAI VADAGAM" is mentioned in Siddha Vaithiya Thirattu. Materials and Methods: Pirandai, Milagu, Kothamalli vithai, seeragam, ulunthu, ellu, kollu, lavanam were purified. Then crushed all the drugs and grinded it with water and then prepared as a vadagam. This medicine was undergo varieties of tests of biochemical analysis.Result: Indicates the presence of Sulphate, chloride, starch, tannic acid and amino acid. Conclusion: This study concludes that Pirandai vadagam has positive actions that association with the indication Kunmam (Peptic ulcer).
