ABSTRACT
The introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) into drug discovery and development techniques has signalled an important turning point in pharmaceutical research. AI technologies, such as machine learning and deep learning, have shown tremendous promise in speeding up the identification of potential medications, improving molecular structures, predicting pharmacokinetic features, and streamlining clinical trials. The article presents a detailed examination of AI's multiple applications in drug discovery and development, focusing on target identification, lead optimization, personalized medicine, and clinical trial optimization. Challenges and future prospects in the field are also highlighted, emphasizing the significance of interdisciplinary collaboration and robust validation procedures in fully realizing AI's potential to revolutionize drug discovery and development.
