Abstract

FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF EMULGEL USING MODEL DRUG

ABSTRACT

Tenoxicam Emulgel formulations prepared with either Carbopol 934, HPMC, showed acceptable physical properties, drug release, and anti-inflammatory activity, which remained unchanged upon storage for 3 months. However, the Carbopol 934 based Emulgel in its low concentration with the formulation code F11 proved to be the formula of choice, since it showed the highest drug release and very good antiinflammatory activity. So, Tenoxicam Emulgel can be used as an anti inflammatory broad spectrum medication for topical drug delivery.
