Bhoomika Jonnalagadda* and A. Prathyusha
ABSTRACT
Theranostics is a combination of clinical and diagnostic methods focused on patient care. Focus on the transition from traditional medicine to modern methods, personalized and precision medicine. This article reviews about various methods used in clinical practice. Positron emission tomography (PET) is a method of injecting radioactive isotopes into a patient's body to help diagnose and treat disease. A combination of MRI-PET and CT-PET is used to obtain better images. Photoacoustic imaging (PAI) is another method that uses non-ionizing laser pulses to diagnose and treat disease. Optical methods (Bioluminescence and fluorescence) help diagnose and treat diseases by producing chemicals and emitting light in the body.
