EFFICACY OF “PIPPALYADI TAIL” UTTARBASTI IN THE MANEGMENT OF URETHRAL STRICTURE- A CASE STUDY

ABSTRACT
Urethral stricture a condition most commonly found in old aged men is a troublesome problem. Obstructed urine flow, straining, dribbling, bed wetting and prolongation of micturition are irritating symptoms found in sufferer. After prolong duration of this condition urine stasis leads to urinary tract infection, calculi formation, bed wetting etc. Ayurveda prospective of this condition is age related vata dosh dominance causing abstraction to both stool and urine ultimately makes person to strain for voiding these mala. Recurrent straining causes Mutramarga sankoch called as “Mutrakruchra”. Uttarabasti of Pippalyadi Tail from Ashtang Hrudaya, Arsha chikitsa found to be effective treatment in Ayurveda for the diseases of Mutravaha Strotas. (Synonym Given - Mutrakruchrahara tail).
