APPLICATION OF OLEX2 SOFTWARE FOR THE VISUAL TEACHING OF <>

ABSTRACT

Purpose: <> is a course that uses single crystal X-ray diffraction to analyze the three-dimensional structure of drug molecules and study the crystal forms of drugs. It is very important for students majoring in pharmacy, but conventional theoretical teaching is difficult to attract students' interest. Therefore, attracting students' interest is our primary purpose. Methods: During the theoretical teaching, we introduce OLEX2 software and increase practical teaching section. Every student can use OLEX2 software to perform crystal structure analysis. Results: Visualization degree of OLEX2 software is high, and the introduction of practical teaching section based on the visualization of OLEX2 software has increased students' interest in learning <> with improved teaching effect. Conclusion: In the teaching process of <>, it is highly recommended to include the practical teaching content of OLEX2 software.
