ABSTRACT
Acid-base indicators used in the laboratory scale are generally synthetic in nature and cause a lot of harm to the natural ecosystems. To minimize environmental pollution, availability and cost, the search for natural compounds as acid-base indicators was started. The present work highlights the use of different natural extracts of the peels of few fruits (Dragon fruit and Pappaya) as acid-base indicators in acid-base titrations, thus from results obtained shows sharp colour change at the equivalence point. This indicator was found to be useful in all type of acid-base titrations. It was found very useful, economical, simple and accurate indicator for said titration.
Keywords: acid base indicator; Natural indicator; anthocyanin and fruit peels.
