SIX SIGMA IN THE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY: AN OVERVIEW

ABSTRACT
Six sigma is a process that examines the imperfections and deficiencies in an organisation. It helps the organization in delivering quality items at a cheaper that will satisfy client. Six sigma has evolved into one of the most potent approaches for quality assurance, business and issue resolution. An introduction to six sigma, a popular process methodology used by business to increase productivity, cut expenses, and improve the quality of their products and services. Six sigma is mainly utilizes two methodologies: DMAIC [Define, Measure, Analysis, Improve, Control] which revises the flaws in current cycles, furthermore DMADV [Define, Measure, Analyse, Design, Verify] which begins a new process when the former one altogether fails to achieve its objective and targets. Just few drug organisations are members of ISSSP [International Society of Six Sigma Professionals] i.e. Novartis, Eli Lilly, Johnson and Johnson. Implementation of Six Sigma is mainly reliant upon supporting infrastructure andmanagement however, it is similarly applicable to innovative work. It identifies the flaws, sets the targets and determines how to coordinate Research and Development into Corporate targets.
