FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF POLYHERBAL GEL FOR WOUND HEALING

ABSTRACT
This review explores the development and assessment of polyherbal gels for wound healing. Acknowledging the historical use of herbs in wound care across cultures, the paper emphasizes the rationale behind polyherbal formulations and details the composition and preparation of the gel. In-depth analyses of in vitro studies, assessing antimicrobial properties and biocompatibility, precede discussions on in vivo evaluations in various animal models. Mechanistic insights into cellular processes and a comparative analysis with conventional therapies provide a comprehensive understanding. The review incorporates findings from clinical trials, addresses challenges in development, and outlines future perspectives, regulatory considerations, and commercialization prospects, serving as a valuable resource for researchers and healthcare professionals.
