ABSTRACT
In the present study, we developed a reliable and robust chromatographic method for the quantification of multivitamins in tablet samples of Vit B1, B2, B3, B6 by Reverse Phase High- performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) with photodiode array detection using C18 column (250 x 4.6 mm, 5μm)under the wave length 280nm. The vitamins nicotinamide, pyridoxine, riboflavin, and thiamin were analyzed and quantified in a total analysis time of 40 minutes, and individual retention time of Vit B1 is 36.29mins, Vit B2 18.32 mins, Vit B3 5.47 mins, Vit B6 is 10.28 mins using reversed-phase (RP)-HPLC. The method linearity exhibits a good correlation coefficient (R2 = 0.999). The method precision %RSD of Vit B1, B2, B3, B6 (0.6, 0.4, 0.3, 0.5), the accuracy %RSD of Vit B1, B2, B3, B6(0.1, 0.4, 0.1, 0.4). The developed methods were validated, and the results demonstrated that the proposed analytical method showed to be selective, sensitive, accurate, and robust for the quantification of evaluated vitamins in multivitamin tablets. All are falling within the acceptable limit. Method performance was validated accordance with international council for harmonization guidelines.
