INSIGHT REVIEW ON ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE: PATHOGENESIS, PHARMACOTHERAPY AND ALTERNATIVE THERAPIES

ABSTRACT
Alzheimer's disease is a one of the most neurodegenerative disease. AD is the common type of dementia. Characterization of AD including memory, comprehension, language, attention, reasoning, and judgment. Risk factors of AD are associated with its development and progression such as ageing, genetics, head trauma, cardiovascular disease (CVD), diabetes, obesity, depression low education, social isolation, environmental metal toxicants, lifestyle and diet. In AD pathophysiological features include amyloid beta (Aβ), neurofibrillary tangles, inflammation, oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfuction.
