ABSTRACT
Cancer is a significant public health challenge in both industrialized and developing nations. Cancer is a pathological proliferation of cells in the body that can result in mortality. The incidence of cancer is steadily rising worldwide. Multiple medications are already available in the market for the treatment of different types of cancer. However, none of these drugs have been proven to be completely effective and safe. A multitude of natural compounds and their derivatives have been recognized as highly effective anti-cancer drugs. Continuously, the anti-cancer potential of different plants is being discovered. The process of discovering new drugs is both time-consuming and labor-intensive. The anticancer efficacy of specific natural compounds and their analogs can be improved by creating novel derivatives using active pharmacophore models. Challenges like as drug resistance, solubility, and metabolic constraints can be solved with suitable molecular modifications. Medicinal herbs, along with their separated lead compounds, are utilized as an alternative kind of therapy to treat neoplastic cells. Neoplastic cells refer to the abnormal and excessive growth of cells in the body that leads to the development of cancer. A variety of effective chemicals obtained from natural sources have been identified as anticancer agents. The chemical compounds are formulated with the intention of developing potent medications to combat cancer.
