ABSTRACT
Shwitra, classified as a type of Kushtha in Ayurveda, is a skin condition characterized by the whitening of the skin, leading to the formation of white patches. Its etiology, dosha involvement, and progression are deeply rooted in ancient Ayurvedic principles. This review aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of Shwitra based on classical Ayurvedic texts, focusing on its synonyms, types, dosha involvement, causative factors, curability, and treatment approaches.
