ABSTRACT
The quest for targeted and controlled drug delivery finds a promising candidate in nanosponges. These microscopic, sponge-like carriers offer unique advantages, Nanosponge can encapsulate different drugs. Their porous structure efficiently entraps both hydrophilic and hydrophobic drugs, enhancing solubility and bioavailability. Nanosponge have targated drug delivery, By adhering to specific sites, nanosponges deliver drugs directly and minimizing systemic exposure and reducing side effects. Nanosponge have Controlled release in which the release profiles are achievable, promoting sustained therapeutic action and optimizing drug utilization. Nanosponge arw versatile. Nanosponges can be formulated for oral, topical, and parenteral administration, expanding their applicability. This review delves into the development procedure characterization techniques, andvarious applications of nanosponges in the pharmaceutical area. Promising results in enhancing drug solubility, stability, and efficacy are highlighted, showcasing their potential to revolutionize drug delivery across various therapeutic domains. However, challenges such as scalability, in vivo evaluation, and regulatory hurdles are also addressed. Overall, nanosponges come to light as a transformative technology with a huge potential to reshape the future of targeted and controlled drug delivery.
