CONCEPTUAL STUDY- YOGYA VIDHI (A PRACTICE BEFORE SURGERY)

ABSTRACT

Acharya Suhruta has made deep roots of surgery in Ayurveda. Acharya Sushruta due to his remarkable contribution is known as Father of Surgery. Acharya Sushruta has described about treatment of diseases, injuries and deformities by manual or operative methods. Ayurveda has not only the objective of alleviation of disease but also maintenance of the healthy status. Acharya Sushruta has explained in detail about knowledge on practical training in chapter Yogyasutriya. Yogya Vidhi helps surgeon to gain excellence over Astavidha Shastra-Karma’ (Eight surgical procedures), Bandhana (Bandaging techniques) etc. Yogya Vidhi helps Surgeon to gain confidence while performing surgeries.
