MANAGEMENT OF VAIPADIKA (PALMO PLANTAR PSORIASIS) THROUGH SHODHANA - A CASE STUDY

ABSTRACT
Palmo plantar psoriasis refers to a localized psoriasis variant which is characterized by the formation of thick scaly lesions to hyperkeratotic plaques. Although this disease is mainly localized towards palms and soles but the hardening of the skin makes it difficult in performing the daily activities. In Ayurveda this condition can be correlated to vaipadika. Vaipidika is explained under the context of kshudra kusta. Vatakapha dosha is predominantly involved in this disease and is characterized by pani pada sphuthana and teerva vedhana. Here is a case of a 60 years old female with history of cracks and pealing of skin over her palms and soles associated with itching .patient was treated with rukshana and later shodhana therapy for 3 days and shamana oushadi were given for 15 days. Patient had good relief in symptoms.
