A CASE STUDY ON GOMUTRA ARKA AND JATYADI TAILA IN THE MANAGEMENT OF DUSTA VRANA

ABSTRACT
Vrana is very common condition encountered in day-to-day surgical practice. Healing of Vrana is a natural process, but according to acharya Susruta when a person does not have control over his Indriya’s, follows apathyaja ahara vihara and untimely treated wound leads to severe vitiation of doshas forming Dusta Vrana. Susruta being the father of Surgery has described 60 different types of wound management (shasti upakrama) like Vrana prakshalana taila dharana kalka dharana etc. In the present study gomutra arka and jaatyadi taila are used in the management of Vrana. These medicaments possess Vranashodhana and ropana properties and are used topically in the management of non-healing ulcer. The patient in present study is applied the above said formulation ones in a day. And it took approximately 9 months for complete healing of the wound.
