STUDY OF ANTI-DIABETIC DRUGS WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO PHARMACOVIGILANCE STUDY

ABSTRACT

Several drugs such as biguanides and sulfonylureas are presently available to reduce hyperglycemia in diabetes mellitus. These drugs have side effects and thus searching for a new class of compounds is essential to overcome these problems, therefore, it is prudent to look for options in herbal medicine for diabetes as well. Present study will be carried out over some indigenous medicinal plants on the basis of which, their antidiabetic potential can be evaluated with little or no side effects.
