A REVIEW OF THE PLANT PUNARNAVA IN AYURVEDA AND ITS VARIOUS THERAPEUTIC USES

ABSTRACT
“Punarnava”, a key botanical entity within the Ayurvedic tradition, is recognized for its multifaceted healing potential. In the realm of Ayurveda, Punarnava stands as a harmonizing force, adept at mitigating imbalances within the Tridoshas, with a particular emphasis on pacifying Kapha and Pitta. Punarnava, scientifically known as Boerhavia diffusa, holds significance in Ayurveda for its diverse therapeutic applications. Research suggests its potential in treating conditions like Liver disorders, Respiratory issues, and inflammation. Additionally, Punarnava is recognized for its diuretic properties, aiding in kidney-related concerns. The plant's active compounds contribute toits Anti-inflammatory and Antioxidant effects, supporting overall well-being. While more studies are needed, preliminary findings highlight. Punarnava’s role in traditional medicine herb for various health benefits. Extracts from Punarnava’s roots, leaves, and stems are harnessed to unlock a spectrum of therapeutic benefits, contributing substantially to the holistic wellness ethos of Ayurvedic practices.
