ABSTRACT
The quinoline scaffolds are privileged for their numerous biological activities in the pharmaceutical field as well as natural products. The medicinal potential of quinoline, a flexible bicyclic heterocyclic scaffold, is significant. They exhibit excellent pharmacological activities. Some compounds with quinoline nuclei are preferred therapeutic agents for various diseases. Several quinoline derivatives demonstrate a wide range of Antibacterial, Anti-inflammatory, Anticancer, Anthelmintic, Antidiabetic, Antifungal, Analgesic, Antialzheimer, Anticonvulsant, Antioxidant, Antimicrobial, Antimalarial, Antimycobacterial, Antiviral, Antiprotozoal, Cardiovascular and miscellaneous activities, many of which are being studied in clinical studies to treat potentially fatal diseases and disorders. Clinically effective drugs widely used to treat various human disease/disorders include several compounds with quinoline skeletons. The main part of this review focusses on and highlights of quinoline for biological review on quinoline and their analogues.
Keywords: Quinoline, Antibacterial activity, Antimalarial activity, Antifungal activity, Anti-inflammatory activity, Antimicrobial activity.
