ABSTRACT

The necessity to create products based on herbs has arisen from the safety and dependability of natural products. Natural beauty care products are becoming more and more well-known among women today. A lipstick is a type of cosmetic that contains dyes, oils, waxes, perfumes, antioxidants, preservatives, and colours. Natural plant components used in herbal lip beautifying treatments give lips renewed vigour and freshness. The current study aimed to create and assess herbal lipsticks utilizing colourants derived from plants like Palash and beetroot. Herbal lipstick was created using various natural components, including beeswax, castor oil, vitamin E, olive oil, rose oil, and extracts from beetroot and Palash. Tests for colour, texture, pH, melting point, breaking point, surface irregularities, aging, and perfume stability were conducted on prepared herbal lipsticks. According to the results, the various evaluation criteria of the created herbal lipsticks matched standard values and the marketed formulation. The adverse effects of synthetic pigments can be reduced by utilizing natural colourants in lipstick compositions.
