ABSTRACT
In this study, melt-in mouth (orodispersible) tablet of Irbesartan has been prepared by wet granulation technique using various concentrations of jackfruit seed starch 1, jack- fruit seed starch 2, and Kyron T-314. Pre-compression parameters of powdered blend and orodispersible tablets were evaluated and found passes as per specifications. The result of FTIR study shows that there was no interaction between drug & polymers. In vitro drug release studies in 0.1 N HCl showed drug release from range 78.5±1.11 % to 95.6±1.07 % all formulation, Formulations F3 containing 12% w/w of JFS1 and 3% w/w Kyron T314 as superdisintegrant released the drug at 95.6% within 30min when compared to the other formulations. The optimized formulation (F3) did not show any significant change inappearance, hardness, friability, thickness and % drug content and showed stable retaining their original properties which indicates no alteration after storage.
