CELLULOSE-BASED SELF-DISINTEGRATING EXCIPIENTS FUNCTIONALITY EVALUATION IN IMMEDIATE RELEASED TABLET FORMULATION

ABSTRACT

Disintegrating agents play a very important role in tablet formulation. With the help of disintegrants, tablets break down into pieces and increase drug release. Fine particles of disintegrating agent impacted flowability, to solve the flowability issue, developed a co-processed excipient containing a binder and disintegrant BARETab® Flash CS. It has excellent flowability, flexible bulk density, and bigger particle size. When BARETab® Flash CS is used in the formulation, it helps to deliver a good-quality tablet in terms of tablet hardness, disintegration time, and dissolution profile. In this study, we studied the functionality evaluation i.e. scanning electron microscopic characteristics and tablet evaluation like hardness, friability, disintegration, and dissolution profile of self-disintegrating excipient.
