ABSTRACT
Hydrogel-based nanoemulgel is one of the well-known nano-lipodial drug delivery system which prepared by the incorporation of a nanoemulsion system into the hydrogel matrix, there by increases the penetration of the skin. Nanoemulgel offers many advantages over other carriers, such as polymeric nanoparticles and liposomes, as it is prepared at low cost, providing a high hydrophilic and lipophilic drug loading system to improve the shelf life of the therapeutic agents. Nanoemulgel shows different properties like thixotropic, non-greasy, effortlessly spreadable, easily be removed, emollient, non-staining, soluble in water, longer shelf life, bio-friendly and translucent appearance. Nanoemulgel drug delivery system gives best result in enhance the absorption of drugs and the therapeutic profile of lipophilic drugs. The review article mainly focus on research survey related to different types of nanoemulgel formulation against various diseases. This review article provides an importance, exact potential and future scope of poorly water soluble drugs designed into nanoemulgel formulation which act as newer and effective drug delivery system in pharmaceutical industry.
Keywords: Nanoemulgel, Nanoemulsion, Poorly water soluble drug, Absorption enhancement, Topical formulation.
