It produces therapeutic effects to both local and systemic circulations through skin. The drug gets incorporates into polyvinyl alcohol to create transdermal patches which serves as a matrix layer for drug administration. Drugs are applied topically and reaches the systemic circulation to produce therapeutic effects by polymeric formulations distribute medication across the dermis at a pre-determined rate. They are non-invasive way to provide medication. This article provides information about TDDS, Merits, Factors influencing, Types, Drug delivery route, Components of transdermal patches.
