ABSTRACT
This study examines the population pharmacokinetics of Methotrexate, a widely used medication for Rheumatoid Arthritis. Rheumatoid Arthritis is a persistent autoimmune disease affecting small joints due to immune system mismanagement. Population Pharmacokinetics (PPK) aims to measure variability in drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, and elimination among individuals. The research, carried out over 10 months, involves 25 adult patients, investigating factors like age, weight, and dose response. Ethical considerations adhere to the Helsinki Declaration, highlighting informed consent. Methotrexate concentrations are analysed through a two-compartment open model. Findings reveal impacts of age on drug clearance and body weight on volume distribution. The research underscores the importance of population pharmacokinetics in customizing drug dosages for individual patients, providing valuable insights for clinical applications.
