ABSTRACT

Arka Taila is an herbal preparation that has Arka as the main Ingredient. Arka, classified as one of the Ekadasha Upavisha[1] in Ayurveda, holds significance dating back to the Vedic period. According to Charaka, an acute poison can be transformed into a beneficial medicine through proper administration, even the most advantageous medicine can turn detrimental if mishandled.[2] Arka, a well-recognized medicinal plant, exhibits therapeutic properties such as Kandughna, Kushtaghna, Vranaropana, and shothagna[3], making it valuable in addressing conditions like Swasa, Gulma, and Krimiroga. Understanding the delicate balance between toxicity and healing potential underscores the importance of skillful and knowledgeable application in Ayurvedic medicine.
