ASSESSING THE DIETARY MANAGEMENT AMONG THE PREGNANT WOMEN BY A PROSPECTIVE OBSERVATIONAL STUDY

ABSTRACT
Nutrition in pregnancy refers to the dietary planning several months before conception, as well as throughout pregnancy and breast feeding. Maternal diet may influence outcomes of pregnancy and childhood. Diet in the first trimester may be more important to development and differentiation of various organs, whereas diet later in pregnancy may be important for overall fetal growth as well as for brain development. Nutritional requirements during pregnancy and lactation vary depending on a women age, BMI, and activity level. Nutritional problem during pregnancy include anemia, pica. Hyperemesis, Gravid arum, heartburn, preeclampsia, gestational weight gain, insulin resistance, managed by eating healthy diet as recommended, with special considerations to multiple gestations.
