Dr. Shivakumara Swamy P.*, Dr. Sunita Siddesh and Dr. Pratheeksha M.

ABSTRACT

The anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH) is secreted in women exclusively by the granulosa cells of the ovarian follicles, which begins at puberty and lasts till menopause. AMH helps in follicular development and oocyte maturation. Estimation of serum AMH is used in the study of ovarian reserve in women. It serves as a prognostic tool in infertility assessment. The signs and symptoms of the patient with low AMH levels can be correlated to Artavadusti in Ayurveda. In this case, reports of the patient showing low level of AMH- indicating decreased ovarian reserves. Here, patient consulted for effective Ayurvedic intervention and was subjected to a course of shodana treatment for 10 days, followed by shamana treatment. After the treatment, reports show marked increase in AMH level which can help her for conception.
