ABSTRACT
Hypertensive Disorders in Pregnancy (HDP) is the most prevalent maternal complication worldwide as it affects 7–10% of all gestations. Pre-eclampsia is a multiorgan disorder unique to pregnancy typically characterized by blood pressure ≥140/90 mmHg after 20 weeks gestation associated with proteinuria ≥300 mg/24 h or ≥1+dipstick. Pre-eclampsia and the other hypertensive disorders of pregnancy remain leading causes of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. The maternal outcome in these women was 29.21% (26/89) reported cases presented pre- eclampsia, 35.95% (32/89) as eclampsia and 34.83% (31/89) as HELLP syndrome. The age wise affected pregnant ladies are more in (18-27) with the percentage of 62.9 and (28-37) reported as 37.07. Totally 93 babies were delivered of 89 women including the twins, we found that poor neonatal outcome interms of low APGAR, IUGR, LBW, higher NICU admissions and need for ventilator for baby was much higher in the women with eclampsia and severe pre-eclampsia. Mean while birth weight is calculated as VLBW (<1500 gms) and LBW (<2500 gms) report the percentage as 46.06% and 53.93%.
