ABSTRACT
Arsha (Haemorrhoids) being the most common grievous ailment and one of the eight most intractable disorders (Ashta Mahagada) explicited by Acharya Sushruta & Vagbhata. Arsha refers to the dilatation of blood vessels located in the ano-rectal region. It can be classified into two main types: internal and external haemorrhoids, depending on their location. The condition can result from various factors, including prolonged straining during bowel movements, chronic constipation or diarrhoea, obesity, and a sedentary lifestyle. Common symptoms of Arsha include rectal bleeding, itching, and discomfort during defecation. Timely diagnosis and management are crucial to alleviate these symptoms and prevent complications. This case study deals with a patient aged 32 years suffering from Raktarsha (I & II-degree haemorrhoids). Arshahar Taila (Apamarga Kshar Yukta) 3ml per rectally was given to the patient twice a day for 4 weeks, which led to reduction in the size of pile mass, bleeding per anum, mucous discharge, constipation and other relevant complaints. Also, he was advised to take Triphala Churna 5gm HS as laxative. The medicine continued for 1month and after completion, follow up was done at interval of 4 weeks.
