ABSTRACT
In recent years, there has been growing interest in exploring natural compounds for their potential anti-diabetic and anti-cancer activities. This project focuses on the synthesis of Zinc Nano Particles (ZNPs) and their characterization by UV, FTIR, EDX, SEM, XRD using Alpinia calcarata ethanolic extract and investigates their effectiveness against MCF7 cancer cells. The study aims to evaluate the cytotoxic effects by using MTT assay of ZNPs on MCF7 cells and their potential as an anti-cancer agent. Additionally, the anti-diabetic properties of the synthesized ZNPs will be assessed using Alpha glucosidase and alpha amylase assays. The findings of this research contribute to the understanding of the therapeutic potential of bio-synthesized nanoparticles from natural sources in combating both diabetes andcancer.
Keywords: Zinc nanoparticle, Alpinia calcarata, Alpha Amylase and Alpha glucosidase assay, MTT assa.
