AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF VIPADIKA:- A CASE STUDY

ABSTRACT
All skin diseases in Ayurveda have been considered under the headings of kushta. Vipadika is one among such disease which has been come under the Kshudra Kushta. It is characterized by Sphutanam (cracks) either in palms or soles or in both with teebra vedana (severe pain). Here, Vipadika is correlated with palmo-plantar psoriasis which is a chronic variant of skin disease which mainly affects palms and sole region. Here, in present case report a patient with complaint of severe dryness and cracking of both palm and soles associated with bleeding and severe pain since 02 years, had difficulty in walking and maintaining other day-today activities. She was treated with Mild Shodana (virechana) and Shamana aushadhi’s like Guduchyadi Kashaya, Indukanta ghrita, Arogya vardhini vati internally and Jeevantyadi yamak for local application. Mild Shodhana also done which may help prevent from recurrence.
