INVESTIGATION ON ANTI-BACTERIAL, ANTI-FUNGAL ACTIVITY USING SILVERNANOPARTICLE FROM RUTA CHALEPENSIS LEAF EXTRACT

ABSTRACT
Ruta chalepensis leaf sample are collected and dried to prepare aqueous extract. Silver nanoparticles are then synthesized from the aqueous extract using chemical method. Silver nanoparticles are Characterized using UV-visible spectroscopy, SEM. Anti-fungal activity against Candida albicans was carried out using synthesized Silver nanoparticles. Anti-bacterial activity was carried out against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus using Agar well diffusion method. Result indicates synthesised nanoparticles from Ruta chalepensis leaf have the potential to act against microbes such as Candida albicans, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus. Zone of inhibition results confirms the anti-microbial activity of Ruta chalepensis.
