ABSTRACT
The present study investigates the qualitative and quantitative analysisof the bioactive constituents of the halophytic succulent plantSalicornia brachiata belongs to the family Amarantaceae. The Rootand Shoot part of the plant was investigated using five differentorganic solvents based on polarity. The extracts were used to study thetwenty different phytochemical tests. The qualitative phytochemicaltest revealed the presence of major bioactive compounds alkaloids, saponin, phenol, flavonoids, tannins, etc., in all extracts of the plantshoot and root part of the plant Salicornia brachiata. Quantitativephytochemical estimation was also carried out using the standardmethod using root and shoot parts of the plant Salicornia brachiata.Quantitative estimation revealed that alkaloid, saponin flavonoidphenol and tannin were present more than other phytochemicals.
