ABSTRACT
Arsha (Piles) is a very prevalent issue that has been documented for thousands of years. Its prevalence rate is the greatest of all anorectal illnesses. One haemorrhoidal episode typically occurs in about half of the population at some point in their lives. Arsha (Haemorrhoids) is a clinical term for a condition in which the haemorrhoidal venous plexus is engorged and the anal cushion is abnormally displaced and enlarged. This condition is marked by inflamed or prolapsed pile mass, bleeding from the rectum, and some discharge from the anus. Jatyadi Taila is one of the very well-known preparations for anorectal disorders. It is also described in various Samhitas to be efficient in wound management. This article aims at providing a brief theoretical review regarding the ingredients of Jatyadi Taila from Ayurvedic texts and online literature.
